With the kids out of the house, this lovely Western Springs couple was looking for a kitchen update that maximized usability as well as created an engaging layout for entertaining, socializing, and hosting family get-togethers. The original home had a back entry from the patio that entered the family room with an adjacent powder room with a large kitchen closet. This large block of plumbing and storage was clearly limiting the potential of an open and social plan, but LivCo was up to the task of solving it.

Knight Rider – Hinsdale 1st Floor Re-imagined

This Hinsdale home had multiple generations of their family living here over the last century and the home had experienced multiple remodels and additions over the years. The current family sought out LivCo to explore an updated and more natural flowing plan for their main living spaces and first floor primary suite.

Joanie Loves Chachi – Lagrange Park Open Plan

This empty-nester couple had a charming ranch in Lagrange Park that needed some updates and better circulation through the interior spaces. With the small kitchen originally situated towards the back of the house, it was a major thoroughfare to the finished basement and backyard spaces and became a bottleneck in the house flow.

The Breakfast Club – Riverside Kitchen Addition

Compartmentalized rooms and an awkward small kitchen jammed in the corner brought these clients to LivCo with dreams of an expansive, bright, open, and social kitchen. The design solution was for a full kitchen addition that could house all of the new cooking and social function and be better connected to the living spaces of the home as well as serve as the connector to the backyard.

With a difficult site and 19th-century bones, this La Grange Park Victorian needed some creative thinking to work for today’s lifestyle. Loving their neighborhood and the character of their historic home, this charming family tasked LivCo with reimagining their spaces for modern living with three kids.

This 19th century historic Riverside four-square had beautiful stately rooms throughout except for in the kitchen. While in 1889, kitchens were solely utilitarian, today’s kitchen, especially for this multi-generational family of ten, needed to do so much more.
